Draft for attorney review — not yet final
Terms of service
Draft date: June 10, 2026
1. What Advocate is — and is not
Advocate decodes special-education documents and explains procedure. It provides information, not legal advice; it is not a law firm, no attorney-client relationship is created by using it, and nothing it outputs is a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney or advocate who knows your specific situation. Advocate does not diagnose children, does not recommend services, and does not predict the outcome of disputes.
2. Accuracy and your responsibility
Analyses are generated from your document plus a rules library maintained from primary sources with verification dates. Regulations change; documents are imperfect; automated reading has limits we disclose in every analysis. Always confirm deadlines and requirements against your own documents and your state's current rules before acting. You are responsible for decisions you make.
3. The free analysis and the paid pack
Document analysis is free. The Meeting Prep Pack is a one-time flat-fee purchase ($25) unlocking prep artifacts for your analyses for 30 days, in the browser where you purchased. Free and paid analyses are identical — payment never changes analytical content.
Refunds: if the pack didn't help you, email [CONTACT EMAIL] within 14 days and we'll refund it. [ATTORNEY: confirm refund policy wording.]
4. Acceptable use
Don't submit documents you have no right to submit; don't attempt to overload, probe, or reverse the service; don't use outputs to harass school staff or anyone else. The fierce edge is for the record, not for people.
5. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. [ATTORNEY: review enforceability and consumer-law carve-outs by jurisdiction.]
6. Governing law and changes
[ATTORNEY: governing law and venue.] We may update these terms; material changes will be posted with a new draft date, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
7. Contact
